Torque specs at a glance
The RR and the AR share the same two torque limits. Use a torque wrench, tighten each bolt to the exact figure your stem or lever manufacturer specifies, and never exceed the bar's maximum.
| Interface | Set to | Never exceed |
|---|---|---|
| Stem faceplate bolts | The stem manufacturer's recommended Nm | 6 Nm |
| Brake/shift lever clamp bolts | The lever manufacturer's recommended Nm | 8 Nm |
Stem and lever setup, from the manual
- Tighten the stem faceplate bolts in a cross pattern and keep the gap between stem and faceplate equal at the top and bottom.
- Position the levers so the top of each brake hood continues the bar's slightly upward slope, with the drop tips within 5 degrees of the ground and the lever tips above the bottom of the drop.
- If your levers offer reach ("throw") adjustment, use it to fine-tune lever distance rather than rotating the handlebar out of position.
- Internal routing needs 3 to 4 cm more cable length than a conventional drop bar, so check your cables before you start.
- Inspect the bar end to end before installing, and again after any crash. Do not install a visibly damaged handlebar.
The full step-by-step instructions, including cable routing diagrams and taping guidance, are in the owner's manual above.
